Cancer Is Curable NOW - A post by Jess Ainscough

I follow Jess and her fabulous blog called The Wellness Warrior - and this is a post that she wrote is fabulous!  So fabulous, I asked her if I could repost the entire thing:

I'm going to be blunt here. Drugs do not cure cancer. They just don't. Every now and then, chemotherapy and radiation treatments may put a patient into "remission", but this is not truly healing. This is certainly not a cure. Why? Because cancer is so much more than the tumour it shows up as. The tumours are merely the symptoms. And when you just target the symptom without dealing with the root cause, the disease is going to keep showing up. You can chase the disease around your body with surgery and radiation, and you can douse it with toxic chemicals, but this is not an effective long-term solution. This is why you here so often of people whose "cancer came back". They didn't do the work to truly reverse their disease. Cancer is nothing more than your body telling you that something has got to give. It is the result of a breakdown in your body's defenses after it has endured years of abuse in the form of a toxic diet, toxic mind and toxic environment.

I feel so, so blessed to be wise to these facts. Once upon a time you had to do a lot of digging to find out the truth about how to really heal cancer. These days, as more and more people are fed up with conventional options, searching for something better and discovering that there is something better, they are doing everything in their power to make sure the word is spread far and wide. I thank Facebook, Twitter and the mass inundation of awesome blogs out there for this. But I also thank the hard-working and brave healing experts who risk their reputations and bank balances to tell us the truth. They stand up to the pharmaceutical giants and give us the information we need to make informed decisions about our health.

I realise this is an extremely long-winded introduction into today's post topic but, what can I say, I am pretty passionate about this subject. Forks Over Knives - A Must See Film

I attended the San Diego Premier of the film Forks Over Knives this past week.  

In a word - EXCELLENT.

I've seen all sorts of films that promote a plant based lifestyle from films like Food, Inc. (where we find out where our "food" is really coming from and what it's REALLY made of) to Crazy Sexy Cancer - a documentary made by the fabulous Kris Carr which outlines her journey to wellness and fight against cancer, to all sorts of animal rights geared videos and films.

Every time I ask someone if they have seen Food, Inc. they either say one of two things:
1. Yes! Such a great film.
2. No - I'm afraid that if I watch it, I won't want to eat certain things anymore.

I want to slap every single person who says #2. 

I do.  

If you're my friend, and you've said that to me, now you know.  I wanted to slap you.  Or at least grab you and shake the nonsense out of you!  But alas, I restrained myself.
Ignorance is bliss?  If you don't know, then you can just go on eating whatever it is you think you shouldn't be eating?  Is that what you are thinking?

That kind of blatant ignorance might kill you.  

Why wouldn't someone want to be as knowledgeable as possible?  Just in general!
But especially when the topic is regarding the foods that we put into our bodies...The foods that build our cells and become the foundation of our health.  Why would you want to do choose something that might harm you?  Wouldn't you rather have all the information possible so that you could make the best informed decision you could make on a daily basis?

Forks Over Knives is one of the most important films that will be made in our lifetime.  It's backed by science and clinical research (which is shown in the film) and in addition, it follows the lives of several people as they make a decision to fight their illness using food as medicine.  Instead of accepting the "well, there is nothing we can do for you" diagnosis from their doctors and instead of being okay with taking shots and pills every day for diabetes or any other number of illnesses, they make a decision to change.

They adopt a natural, whole foods plant based lifestyle.  Cooked or raw, doesn't matter, they just change from eating diets high in animal products (dairy, meat, etc) and processed food (processed sugars, salts, grease) to that of a whole foods plant based diet.  Veggies!  Fruit!  Whole grains!  Foods from the earth!  Not foods from a factory.

Did their cholesterol levels return to normal?  Did they lose weight?  Did they beat cancer?  Did they kick diabetes to the curb?  Did they beat heart disease and literally rebuild their arteries so they looked brand new?

Well, what do you think?  You'll have to go see the film to find out. :)  

Forks Over Knives shows you how you can take control and responsibility for YOUR OWN HEALTH. It shows you just how unnecessary and preventable sickness and disease really are.  It shows you how you can fight back and regain your health through a plant based lifestyle.

Cancer runs amok in my family..on both sides.  Diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, stroke, heart attack, cancer cancer cancer.   Just about every female on both sides of my family has at some point been diagnosed with breast cancer, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer and most recently, a close family member was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Listen to me when I tell you this, because I'm right:  There isn't a magical cancer cure sitting in a vial waiting to be discovered.

Cancer, disease, sickness, illness - these are not things that fell from the sky at random and attached themselves to you.  I truly believe most illness and disease can be reversed and prevented by our lifestyle and food choices.

Why did I adopt a plant based lifestyle?  What got me into the whole raw thing?  Well, aside from struggling with disordered eating and wanting to lose weight and finally get healthy - the right way - AND aside from the fact that just about everyone I am related to is dealing with- or has at one time dealt with illness and disease - I was hospitalized twice for ovarian cyst ruptures.  Out of the  blue, collapse on the floor- call 911 - emergency room- internal ultrasounds - lots of tests - painful as all get out- cyst ruptures.

Determined Cause (after seeing lots of doctors who couldn't explain it and finally one asked me to list for her what I ate all the months prior):  SOY and eating lots of soy products.

My doctor recommended that I  change to a whole foods plant based lifestyle to avoid eating soy.  It gave me control over what I was putting into my body.  I know there is no soy in vegetables or fruit. I know for a fact that broccoli does not contain soy. I can eat those and not have to worry that someone might have added soy to it. By making that decision to choose whole foods that are natural, I took control back.  I am responsible for my health.   ME. The minute I cut out the soy and processed food products (that I thought were healthy) - the cyst ruptures went away.  I haven't had one since.  

Was it easy at first?

No, it wasn't.  I struggled.  But I had support, and I asked others for help.  So I'm not telling you to see this film from some high and mighty chair up in the clouds.  I've been on the overweight, unhealthy side of it.  I've had a long arduous journey of my own.  But now I'm on the healthy side and it freaking ROCKS!  I want YOU to be on this side with me!  I want to help YOU change your life!  I want to help YOU feel great!  Because you DESERVE TO FEEL AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!  

If you are struggling with any illness, disease, sickness or you just feel physically BLAH - there is an answer.  There is hope.  There is a way to make a change.

Watch that film and watch so many others change their lives in the film.  Watch them get rid of their diabetes.  Watch them lower their risk for heart disease.  Watch them do it.  You will leave the theater informed, inspired and motivated to take your life back...to gain control again.

Even if you don't currently have any sickness or illness that you know of - go see the film.  This is information that EVERYONE needs to really fully know and understand.   This film is an education in itself.  

You don't have to switch to a plant based lifestyle over night.  I know, it can seem daunting.  But if you see this film, you will be armed with the information you need to make the right decisions about the foods you are choosing to fuel your body.  You can start with small changes.  Start with a single step.  

Sometimes that's all it takes to change your life.

5 Ways to Eat Healthy and Still Have a Social Life!

I bet that if you got a dollar for every time you heard someone unceremoniously exclaim “THAT’s what you’re eating?”, you’d be on your way to being seriously wealthy by now. Or at least you’d have a damn fine kitchen set up. Hello Vita-Mix, twin gear juicer, state of the art food processor and personal vegan chef!

Feeling like the alien among the human masses can be part of the terrain when you are a raw fooder, vegan or even just a healthy eater. So ingrained in our social culture are food and drinking practices, that doing anything differently can feel like you are waving a red flag at a herd of bulls and shouting “come and mow me down guys, pronto!”.

Social situations can suddenly become fear inducing occasions which make you want to pee your pants or run in the other direction. Gone are the days where you would grab a glass of vino and scoff down a beef canapĂ© between drags of a cheeky smoke (only socially of course). However, that doesn’t have to mean your social life has to be thrown out the window. You really can enjoy a full and satisfying social calendar with a little foresight, preparation and most of all, confidence in yourself. Here are 5 tips to make it easier:

Let’s start with the most important factor in enjoying a rich social life – confidence. As with any aspect of life where you might be doing something a little different, it’s the confidence you do or don’t exude that can influence not only how you feel but also how others feel about you.

If you rock up at your social events and enjoy healthy food that you love, quietly confident in your choices and decision to stay true to what serves you best, you are going to feel better about yourself and attract less unwanted attention. You may still get curious glances and questions from interested friends and family, maybe even some unwanted ones, but you will be limiting the number and severity of these comments just by your contentment with your choices.

Pick the social events and people you wish to invest your time and energy in. If you are trying to heal and live a healthy and happy life, then the first thing you need to do when making any decision is to check in with you. Consider how you are feeling, what it will mean to you if you do or don’t socialize, whether it will be good for you to push yourself out of isolation and get yourself into a new environment? Will it better for you to rest and be quiet?

Just because you want to maintain a social life does not mean you have to continue to go to the same types and number of social events as you used to. Often changing your diet is the first step on a path of self reflection and it is perfectly fine to allow yourself time to go inwards and to say no to some invitations.

Let go of ideas of how things "should" be and how others "should" act. No one will ever do anything exactly as you think they should do because they are not you! Some people are just going to be difficult or make rude comments or try to put you down. Do not buy into their behaviour. It is usually just masking their own insecurities and lack of self worth.
If you are at a loss for how to respond to negative people, you can always just say “I feel best when I eat this way”, or “I don’t like how alcohol makes me feel”. It’s very difficult to argue with a closed statement that says only how you personally feel.

Set your non negotiables
Make a list of your "non negotiables" to stay happy and healthy at social events, and then stick to it. Maybe that means staying vegan, eating only raw foods, not going to an event hungry or eating only food you bring with you. Maybe it means you will allow yourself to bend a little on your normal eating habits to feel comfortable. Whatever it may be, get very clear on your "absolute minimum" list, and then consider what you need to do sure these things happen. Do you need to take a fresh veggie juice with you or do some research to find local stores that sell produce or meals you can take with you? Do you need to call ahead to friends, family or restaurants to check what food options will be available? Do you need to make a shopping list and buy items in advance so that you have yummy and healthy food choices ready for you at a moment's notice? The key is to actually make your list and then put it into action!  

Be your own chef
We all know just how much poor food choices can severely drain our energy and mood. Taking your own food that is incredibly delicious, beautifully presented and totally in line with your dietary choices can make all the difference in how much you enjoy a social event. If you love the food you bring you are not going to feel deprived so while it will suffice to bring carrot sticks and hummus, try taking something which is going to thrill you so that you can’t wait to dive into it at the event.

Even better, take an impressive veggie dish along with you to share with the other guests. Usually people will pounce on a beautifully presented vegetable dish so just be sure to put aside an extra container for yourself!

Alternatively you can call ahead to the host/ess or restaurant to ensure there will be food choices for you, or you can eat a delicious meal or snack before you go. Whatever you decide to do, make sure there is food you can eat or that you are not hungry. I imagine you might be sporting a rather glum face if you get to a party and as everyone enjoys their feast of roasted meats, and sugar and flour heavy desserts you sip your non-filtered warm tap water!

At the end of the day, ask yourself this question: what am I willing to do to be healthy?

COLONICS - FAQ -By: Marlena Torres of The Sunshine Center

My experience with juicing, a raw vegetable based diet, and colon hydration has been life changing, and I am very happy to spread this message.

As a colon hydro therapist, I get a lot of questions regarding this alternative holistic therapy that seems to be gaining in popularity among health seekers and trend followers alike. The truth is, it’s a very old practice that has been hidden away for too long and replaced with futile pharmaceuticals and allopathic treatments that only make us suffer more.

Due to ignorance, many people feel that colonics are unnatural and unsafe, but the truth is that a properly administered gravity colonic coupled with a clean, alkaline, hydrating, living diet is the most powerful healing tool available, no matter what you are suffering from.

I am so honored that Lauren has asked me to be a part of The Cancer Squad. Juicing and clean eating coupled with colonics is the only way to rid the body the cause that underlies cancer. Furthermore, I feel that other methods are a waste that distract us from the real issue that causes all disease: waste matter and obstruction in the body that breeds yeast and bacteria which permeates the intestinal walls, infiltrates the entire body and eventually, at it’s worst stage, eats away at human tissue. I speak so boldly about this because the more I work with people, I see that more and more people are suffering from cancer and other debilitating and life threatening illnesses. There was a time when I was in physical pain almost daily and I know how desperate it feels. If you are feeling awful and nothing is helping you, the information below may offer you some solutions.

Why are colonics good for me?

Colonics are beneficial because they remove accumulated waste matter from the intestine. This waste matter obstructs the natural flow and function of the body. It is very important to remember that the body is a holistic organism. If the colon is impacted, the entire body is impacted and compromised. The body will protest our lifestyle choices with symptoms (such as break outs, eczema, depression, and fatigue, just to name a few).

Without colonics, acidic matter cannot leave the body. Instead, it will bake into the intestinal tissue at human body temperature. Eventually this waste matter is dried, and is stored in the tissue. This is what we refer to as accumulation. Once the intestine has become pretty full, the toxins that the bowel is holding will filter into the blood stream. This is how toxicity can overwhelm the system SO much so that the waste actually BECOMES us.

Remember basic science: the cells make up the tissues, which make up the organ, which make up the organism. If we are eating non human foods, it’s sticking to the tissue (acidic food magnetizes to alkaline tissue…in other words, hamburgers and pizza leave an acidic residue in the body that never leaves unless juicing, salads and colonics are implemented), and it is changing our terrain. This results in a life experience that is much less pleasurable than what humans were designed for.

So in a way, it’s not true that we are we eat, but we are what we don’t eliminate.

This explains the phenomenon of seasonal allergies, or fruit allergies…the body is reacting negatively to something that is actually really wonderful (Such as a spring day or a gala apple) because the body has become toxic due to the consumption of so much non-human food that has never left the intestine.

Are Colonics Safe?

I can only speak for Wood’s Gravity Method colonics because this is what I am trained in, practice and personally use. Properly administered Wood’s Gravity colonics are absolutely safe. I’ll explain the general process of a colonic treatment.

There is a 5 gallon tank that is mounted on the wall about 3 feet above a massage table where you lay during the session. A sterilized speculum is inserted into your body that is attached to a waste tube that goes right from the speculum to the plumbing (this is a closed - system…open, meaning that waste is exposed, would be quite unpleasant for all involved!).

Water flows into the body only by the force of gravity. This provides no more pressure on the colon than a simple old fashioned enema does (which used to be a very routine procedure!). In some cases, such as if someone has colon cancer and they have a tumor on the sigmoid, then a colonic should not be administered because that would be too painful. For people with all kinds of intestinal illness (and all illnesses, really), colonics coupled with an alkaline-rich diet is the only way to really heal the intestine, and therefore, the entire body.

You will start your colonic treatment on your left side. You spend about ten minutes here, and then you Turn onto your back. This is where most of the treatment takes place. Then you turn back to your left side to finish up the treatment. The therapist is with you the entire time. The duration of a colonic usually lasts about one hour, but sometimes it they may be a bit shorter and sometimes a bit longer depending on the individual.

Where does the water go? What does it do?

The water enters and exits the colon simultaneously with a gravity colonic. As the water meets waste it will carry it out as the therapist pulses the tube to mimic peristalsis, move out waste and gas, and actually strengthen the intestine (if you don’t use it, you lose it doesn’t just go for your bicep muscles, but your intestine as well).

Sometimes the therapist will do a hold. This is when the waste tube is simply closed off with the thumb or by folding the tube so that the colon can absorb more water and re-hydrate older, denser, more stubborn waste matter. As soon as you feel any pressure, you let the therapist know, and they then end the hold by releasing their grip on the tube.

Your therapist will (or at least they should) inform you of holds, breath with you, and guide you through the whole process.

Often times a bit of abdominal massage is administered to help move gas pockets and get the waste moving out.

The process of re-hydrating old waste and getting it out of the body is the only real way to heal anything. The waste matter bogging down the cells is at the heart of what ails you. The only way to truly heal the body is to reconstitute old waste matter with raw juices and vegetables, and to make sure all of this awakened matter exits the body through colon hydration.

How often should colonics be done?

This is entirely individual. The key is this: the more hydrating the diet (the more raw juices and salads you consume in the absence of processed foods), the more you have to pay attention to what’s going on in your tummy. We need to get used to feeling things again and determining for ourselves what is best, based on how we feel. If you feel energized, happy, and blissful, then you don’t need colonics. If you are eliminating huge amounts of waste that is at least as much in volume as what you ate yesterday, then you don’t need colonics. Unfortunately, this isn’t a too common experience.

I usually recommend for new clients to come in once every two weeks or once a month. Sometimes people like to take a month and come in once a week for that month while really working the diet to see what a difference regular colonics can make. I think this is a wonderful way to get started. The change that occurs - physically, mentally, and emotionally, when a clean diet and colon hydrotherapy are tended to, is not subtle in the least!

Overall, I believe that colonics are something that really need to be implemented for most people because of the hazards of 21st century living. So my advice is to embrace all the benefit that this most powerful healing tool has to offer, and figure out a frequency that works good you physically, emotionally, and financially.


Can colonics be overdone?

Anything can be overdone, and anything can be misused. Of course there are people who overeat and then get colonics. Basically this is an example of unprocessed emotions crossing over (usually from) throwing up in a toilet, and now, instead, trying to get it all out in a colonic. In this way, yes, colonics can absolutely be overdone (and misused).

The key here is how we are approaching colonics. Are we approaching it as a healing tool that is taking us from point A to point B? Point A being that we are living in compromised bodies and point B being that we know in our hearts that feeling awful is not what was intended for humans and that getting the muck out is the only way to be liberated from that pain? Or are we using colonics to empty out the system and then overindulge? Or vice versa, are we using colonics as a means to undo a day (or days) of bad eating?

Colonics are a decompression of the entire system. The waste empties out of the colon which means less pressure on your other organs (relief already), plus the cells can now release more waste matter into the bloodstream to be dumped into the empty six foot vessel (the intestine) that was once impacted.

Remember that the body is always maintaining homeostasis, so as we empty the organ that holds the majority of waste (the colon is responsible, or at least tries to be responsible for about 80% of our metabolic waste), the cells will release more waste. As we continue to get colonics, our bodies become clearer and cleaner. Life is an entirely different experience in this kind of body as opposed to an impacted, sick body.

This is why once people get into a regular schedule of colonics, they typically feel it when they miss their usually scheduled treatment. This isn’t a bad thing. We are not any more reliant on colonics than your average Joe is reliant on coffee in the morning, or pizza in the evening, shopping, or reality television. The body wants to be open, and clear. We just need to give it a little assistance now a days!

Main point: we are living in compromised bodies, in a compromised time. The worries that people have about becoming reliant on colonics are silly when you look at the big picture. A well administered gravity colonic is basically a work out for the colon, and will only make peristalsis stronger. I’ve seen it evidenced time and time again!

Isn’t the body designed to naturally eliminate everything?

Yes, of course it was! However, it was not designed to process and eliminate most of what we’re exposed to today: white flour, GMO foods, antibiotics and all other pharmaceuticals including birth control, toxic skin care/make up, radiation from computers, cell phones, etc, pesticides and herbicides, fumes from cars and busses, nail polish, synthetic fabrics, physical and emotional abuse, manipulation and neglect from the people in our lives. Add this to the fact that we are spending most of our time in - doors breathing in stale, dead air, sitting in front of machines all day (computers and televisions), and we can easily see that our bodies are not processing much of anything that it was actually meant to process (fruits, vegetables, sunlight, clean air, happiness, love)

This is why colonics are so important and (I’m convinced) are going to become normal regular things to have administered once a month or more just to feel our best emotionally, physically, and psychologically as our quality of living because less alkaline. We’re going to understand that, much like our teeth need a cleaning every six months, so do our colons. Colon hydration through juicing, raw vegetable salads, and colonics, is the pathway to a disease and symptom free life experience.

LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE By - Nathane Jackson

On September 2nd 2009 I lost my best friend and mother to a ten year battle with cancer.  One year later, there isn’t a day that goes by that I wish I had opened my eyes years earlier to what my mother was going through.  You see, with everything that I know now about the power of live living food, I feel confident that she would still be with our family “Living, Laughing and Loving.”   For nine years I sat back and assumed her team of doctors knew exactly what they were doing with all of their prescribed treatments of chemotherapy and radiation.  After all, these procedures were supposedly going to rid her body of the cancer cells and allow my mom to live past her 58th year.    

I finally awoke from this dream world similar to Neo after accepting the infamous “red pill” from Morpheus in the movie The Matrix.  I started to research alternative cancer treatments and my initial findings led me to intravenous mega dose vitamin C therapy.  It would be this very therapy along with a change in nutrition geared toward blood type that lifted my mom out of her wheel chair and away from the oxygen mask she so heavily relied on.  Within a few months my mother was back vacationing in Las Vegas, the city she once lived and adored so much, along side my father and their two best friends.

The power of nutrition also made a huge difference.  My mom changed her eating habits by following what Dr. Dodd referred to as eating for your blood type and leaning towards more organic whole foods.  This was a huge step for her as she never had stuck to a healthy nutrition regime especially one that eliminated highly acidic foods such as red meat and dairy.        

At this point in my research I was on the cusp of discovering the true power of raw food.  I strongly believe if I would have been able to discover raw foods along my journey sooner, my mom would still be here today.  This is a strong statement but there is no denying the power of raw live living foods and what they can do to help heal and reset a disease stricken body.  I also would have loved to introduce my mom to yoga and meditation as these two practices would have helped her to detoxify and create a strong mind, body & spirit connection.      

My mom would eventually pass a few months later, as her cancer was too far gone, but not after living the majority of her last 6 months the way she would have loved to live her last ten years.  Her passing has allowed me to save my own life and a few of my clients lives as well. In fact, I have received quite a few e-mails over the past year from people I have never met stating that the information from my website, blog posts and facebook messages have helped to save themselves or someone they love.    

My mom may now be gone physically from my life, but she left me with the greatest gift of all; the knowledge and the drive to help many others with a holistic approach to starving off and treating cancer for those who are suffering from this brutal man made disease.

The Gift of Pain - By Casey Lorraine Thomas

I hear you. The words “gift” and “pain” don’t usually sit comfortably together in the same sentence. Boy, do I get that. I’ve experienced an awful lot of pain in my lifetime. While I have been lucky enough to avoid a cancer diagnosis, my history of extremely severe debilitating eczema and a general sensitivity to err…everything, has ensured that I am far too familiar with pain. Weeks, even months, in bed with no hope of feeling a minute free of pain in the foreseeable future come to mind.

Yet, I have learned over the years just how powerful it can be to experience pain. Whether it is physical or emotional, or even spiritual, pain is an incredibly strong motivator for change and if you dig for and heed its message to you, it can be one of the greatest catalysts for positive improvement and growth in your life that you will ever experience. There are many cancer survivors I have spoken with and worked with who have shared with me that their diagnosis was the kick in the butt they needed to both get healthy and to start living again. I mean, really living.

Of course pain can be all encompassing. It is so very easy to slip into the downward spiral of depression that comes with constant discomfort, fatigue, irritation and feeling sorry for oneself while not being able to perform “normal” everyday functions or carry on a “normal” routine. I have full empathy for how difficult it can be to pull yourself out of this negative frame of mind when the pain you are in is so overwhelming and just darn awful.

I consider myself an eternal optimist and strive to view all things in life, “bad” or “good”, as lessons to learn from and chances to shape our life experience. Yet there have been many times in my life where the pain I have suffered from has brought me to a place of depression that I never thought I could experience with my attitude to life and overall intention to make this world of ours a better place in my own way. Where the pain has been so unbearable, so unsightly, so brutal and so relentless, that all I have wanted to do is crawl into a hole and drug myself up or do anything at all to take the pain away. Where I have begged some higher existence for just a moment of relief from the living hell I was experiencing. Can you relate?

We have all had moments, or even weeks, months and years of feeling pain. I do not wish this experience on anyone. However, what I can tell you is that my experience of pain, and what so many of my clients and others in my life share with me, and that I see first hand time and time again, is that once changes have been made to alleviate the pain and listen to the body’s messages, it is clear that this pain has really been a gift to us – if a poorly disguised one!

Our bodies are so wise, much wiser than the reasoning and commentary of our “monkey minds”. If we allow ourselves to tune in to this wisdom and honour it by taking steps to heal our bodies and minds, the pain will subside and with persistence, it can even disappear completely. You can even turn your cancer diagnosis around – screw that pain!

Of course, it can take some trial and error and a great deal of commitment, dedication and faith to find out and implement what it is your body needs, but I assure you it can be done and it is most certainly worth it. As you start to listen to your body and its messages, you will have a great chance to ride out the storm until a line of clear blue sky starts to slowly but steadily break though the fog of pain and confusion, bringing hope, clarity and a renewed sense of health, purpose and positivity for the future.

If you are experiencing pain on any level of your being right now, whether form cancer or not, I urge you to take some time to look deep inside and “hear” the messages your body is screaming out to you. Then you need to take action to make the changes your body is crying out for. Remember that thought without action will only take you so far. If you are in severe pain, know that your body, in its infinite wisdom, has probably been trying to give you a lot of more subtle and less painful messages for a long time but they weren’t great enough or debilitating enough for you to stop, listen and heed them. Now, you are in a place where you either have to listen because the pain is so great, or drug yourself up to a point of numbness, which is most certainly another type of pain in its own right, and one that will only hide the pain temporarily rather than address it. Now is the time for you to listen up!

If you are experiencing a pang here, a pain there, small symptoms or emotional disturbance, then choose to give yourself the gift of early detection of what is really going on and what your body is trying to communicate to you. It can be so easy in our busy, hectic lives with its many demands to push these messages to the end of our to do list or worries, but know that they will not go away unless we address them or make change in some way. Pain is a call for change in a not so subtle way! It’s not pleasant, it’s not something that makes us feel good, but it is a gift. Ask anyone who has suffered intense pain, physical or emotional, and come out the other side to live a happier and more fulfilling life. It is usually the pain that was the turning point to a better life experience with more attention to what really matters, to the beauty of life, and to love. From pain to love. Isn’t it what all inspiring and heart warming stories, real life or fiction, are made up of? I encourage you to write your own story with the ending you desire. Take the opportunity your body is presenting to you and use and learn from your pain to make your life everything you know it can be. I am riding the journey with you!
